I can't imagine what you're going through - when my daughter was a toddler I had to keep pushing & pushing to get anyone to take me seriously - I switched doctors when they started refusing to schedule appts for her - and found out her medical records had "hypochondriac mother". I've dealt with family members tell me to just "make her knock it off" in regards to throwing up and her episodes. {Side note: I've been calling them "episodes" for YEARS and finding them called that by others makes me feel somehow relieved}
I hope you have supportive friends/family who understand your condition. There's a .pdf on the main page that's about the "empirical guidelines" on how to deal with CVS for medical professionals - consider printing that out and sharing it with your boss, family, HR staff at work, etc - it might go a long way toward helping others understand just how serious your condition is and that it's not just "Oh, man, I've thrown up before, just deal with it!" kind of a situation.
Hang in there, as I keep telling my daughter, it's going to get better, you'll learn new ways to cope & find new tools to help you enjoy your life again.

Paxil. My Fiance has been taking Paxil since the beginning of his struggle with anxiety. I say, oh about 15 years now. He hasnt been diagnosed with cvs but takes Paxil and Clonozepam for anxiety and depression. Not only do I find they do nothing to treat those conditions but they are also fairly useless during an attack as well. We live in Southern Ontario and cant wait to find a Dr. that will finally start us down the right path to recovery. Thank you, all of you! Though I may not be a cvs sufferer myself, this affects my family very much. This is a very tough affliction to deal with, even when youre just an observer. But, you have all shed so much light on this subject. For helping me , help my hubby, with baths, icecubes and empathy... I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for sharing your stories!! Good luck to you all. xoxo

Well I know I'm heading into another episode I went about a month with no vomiting but Monday I started having a relapse. The pains have started along with a non-existent appetite so within a week or maybe two ill have a full on-set episode.

Wow. I know none of this is a blessing, but to have that much notice before an episode is atleast a small advantage! In this house we have maybe 20 minutes to try and stop the pains and nausea from sending him hugging the porcelain pony. Good thoughts and Good luck!!
