Based on suggestions here, I asked our GI doc about CO-Q10 for my DD aged 9.  Doc said to give it a try, so we've found a liquid version (she doesn't swallow pills) that's orange flavored so I thought she'd like it.  But the liquid is super thick, it frankly looks pretty disgusting!  She won't take it straight, it's worse mixed with water, and she doesn't care for straight orange juice.  So any ideas?  Can I mix it in food?  Can I put it in a smoothie?  She's only supposed to take 1tsp so I'm a little concerned with mixing it that she won't get the full amount.  Suggestions?!

Thanks!

Do you have a blender?

Try a smoothie made with 1/4 cup of orange juice, 1/2 ripe banana, 3/4 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries, 1 tablespoon sugar (I use honey or maple syrup) or to taste, and 3 to 4 ice cubes. (Better to use thawed strawberries if using all the ice).

Place ingredients in blender jar in order listed. Blend for 1 to 2 minutes.

This makes one smoothie.

Another parent mixed the CoQ10 with chocolate syrup.  This was the only way the child would swallow it.  Hopefully your daughter can soon learn to accept capsules.

Or mix and swallow with a huge spoon of honey?
