I just happened to catch a segment of The Resident on TV. One of the Resident Surgeons playing a recurring role treats a child with CVS. There was not much to the episode but certainly was a good thing to see the topic brought up. Maybe we can write the producers and ask that this character be brought back to the show for a larger segment?

I never heard anything from the TV company when I emailed them a couple of weeks ago 🙂

There was an episode on Grays Anatomy a few years ago. A lot of people were upset because they preferred another "type" of character but it was still exposure for CVS. Chandra Wilson is an actor on the show and her young adult daughter has CVS. She was instrumental in getting an episode with CVS. She has also discussed CVS on The Doctors, a day time US show. I am not sure what The Resident show might have to do with CVS and it was a very brief part of one episode but it did involve a major character and maybe CVS can be revisited in the future. Many have written different shows in the US, including a lot of people approaching the show House at one time. I don't think the condition was included on that show. One time years ago I had a call from a grandfather of a young boy who had CVS. Seems they had gone on an "extreme" skiing trip by private jet and the child became ill with a cycle. They had an awful time getting an aircraft in to medivac due to dismal weather conditions. They were able to transport the child to a major teaching hospital, either NY or DC. The grandfather said the child's dad was involved in the Today Show and they were going to follow up with CVSA and do a segment on the show. Nothing ever happened. It is too bad we cannot get more media attention.
