Hello all,

I'm deficient in Vitamin D so I started taking some from Jarrow brand.  If anyone is taking it, have you had success with symptoms of CVS or any other health issues?

My son (12 yrs) is who has abdominal migraines is also low on Vit D. he has been taking the CVS drug store brand for several years.  We found out he had mono and was low in Vit D about the same time he was diagnosed with abdominal migraines.  But taking the extra vit D hasn't seem to have any affect on his episodes.  I never really thought about the grade of the vitamins until I started looking into CoQ 10.
It would be interesting to hear from others as well.

I haven't seen any positive effects either, but it's only been a few days.  I had read that it's best absorbed with calcium and magnesium so I take a multi mineral at the same time in hopes that might help absorb better and I can see a difference at least somewhere in my body.  Only time will tell I suppose!

I have a little bit of experience with this if you're still looking. When you say low.. are the readings just LOW? Insufficient or Deficient? The medical acceptance of low varies. I brush insufficient on a good blood draw. Which on the high end of the insufficient range.. You are considered "okay."  I am an outdoor person, I should be fine.. But apparently not. I had to keep upping my Vitamin D intake. Over several months and Several rechecks of my levels. Which remained at deficient. The D3 made NO change in my levels at all. I was referred to an Endocrinologist. He put me on Very high Doses of D2. Which seemed to jump start the absorption process. I was on that for a few months.. then returned to my previous levels of D3.

One of my adult kids has severe vitamin D deficiency.  She is a fair skinned blonde.  Under doctors orders she takes daily prescription D3.  She has a prescription for a huge dose to be taken weekly.  By the time the weekly dose is close to being due she is in more bone pain.

One of the former members of the message board has a confirmed mito disease family.  After many years of unusual symptoms she was finally diagnosed correctly with Osteomalacia (adult rickets).  She is being treated.

I have no idea if low D goes along with mito disorders or CVS.
