I have never seen a Medical study on this but it has worked for me.  I started taking 5HTP which is a serotonin supplement for insomnia.  Not sure how much it helped for the insomnia but it has dropped my migraines by 2/3rds.  The CVS had been on a 26 +/- day cycle and admittedly I not had it a for long time, 14 months but, now I have not had an episode in 4 months.  I have no idea if this will work for anyone else but if it helps at all..........hope it will for others.

Thank you!  Great news and something I was unaware of.   Please keep us updated on your progress.  I will let my migraine daughter know as well!

Wonderful that you found something.. If you find Dr. Boles recent Video provided by CNNH, they do a quick mention of serotonin receptors and how 5-HT() and 3-HT() antagonists are helpful on nausea and migraine. There are several studies. Just not on a readable level.. unless you are quite versed in medical lingo.. I read them to relax. But they get my mind racing 😉

With the affect on mood and the central nervous system. I can see how it would be helpful.

We used melatonin at one point, but it aggravated my son's migraines. Something to discuss with his doctor for sure.
