If you bring some donuts and coffee to your ER everyone will know your name and thank you for it your entire 2 next episodes.  I get 3 dozen donuts and 3 boxes of coffee per shift around here.  There is no quicker way to a nurse's heart then coffee. At the very least it shows them you are thinking about them, and you appreciate their help.

Just keep Swimming,

What a great idea!

We take a container of Candy when we are inpatient and let the nurses know its for them. We get "extra" visits to check on us. We also take cupcakes or brownies to our various nurses places, ie: Infusion, ER, PCP, specialists

Actually we did nurse gifts as well after each stay.  Of course Pedi inpatient care is usually exceptionally good so I dont think there was any benefit other than saying thank you.

I do think this is a great idea from both of you.

And Steve, don't forget the security guards-- cute or otherwise!
